IHM Ranchi and Nile Hospitality Sign Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)

A Landmark Collaboration for Hospitality Education and Industry Integration in Jharkhand

Ranchi: In a significant step towards strengthening hospitality and tourism education through enhanced industry collaboration, the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Ranchi, an autonomous institution under the Department of Tourism, Government of Jharkhand, and affiliated with the National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT), Noida, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nile Hospitality, which operates Ramada by Wyndham, Ranchi.

The MoU was formally signed by Dr. Bhupesh Kumar, Principal, IHM Ranchi, and Mr. Yogesh Kumar, General Manager, Ramada by Wyndham, Ranchi, on behalf of their respective organizations.

The primary objective of this partnership is to bridge the gap between hospitality education and industry requirements by equipping students with practical knowledge, professional competencies, and industry exposure aligned with global hospitality standards. Under the agreement, students of IHM Ranchi will benefit from Industrial Exposure Training, internships, On-the-Job Training (OJT), collaborative research initiatives, live industry projects, industrial visits, campus recruitment drives, and enhanced employment opportunities across various levels of the hospitality sector.

Through this collaboration, students will gain firsthand experience of professional work environments in renowned hospitality brands, enabling them to develop a comprehensive understanding of hotel operations, guest service excellence, operational management, and leadership practices. The partnership will also facilitate guest lectures, masterclasses, webinars, and interactive sessions conducted by industry experts, providing students with insights into emerging trends, innovative technologies, and international best practices in the hospitality industry.

The MoU further emphasizes experiential learning by offering students opportunities to participate in real-time hotel operations and live industry projects. These initiatives are expected to strengthen their problem-solving abilities, teamwork, leadership skills, communication competencies, personality development, and overall employability. Additionally, curriculum enrichment and skill development activities will be undertaken in consultation with industry experts to ensure that students remain competitive in the evolving global hospitality job market.

Beyond student development, the collaboration also encompasses joint initiatives in research, consultancy, seminars, conferences, and other academic activities related to hospitality and tourism. Faculty members of IHM Ranchi will also receive opportunities for industry training and exposure visits, enabling them to bring current industry practices into the classroom and enhance the quality of teaching and training.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Bhupesh Kumar, Principal, IHM Ranchi, stated:
