Ranchi University Professor Dr. Anand Kumar Thakur Appointed as NCERT Reviewer for Maithili Learning Resources

RANCHI: Dr. Anand Kumar Thakur, Assistant Professor at the University Postgraduate Department of Zoology, Ranchi University, has been assigned a prestigious national academic responsibility. The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi, has invited him to serve as a reviewer for learning resource materials being developed in the Maithili language.

Dr. Thakur, who is a native Maithili speaker, will primarily review biology textbooks during a three-day national meeting. The conference is being held at the NCERT headquarters in New Delhi from June 21 to June 23, 2026. During this session, academic experts will review and finalize the new study materials designed in alignment with the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP-2020) and the National Curriculum Framework 2023 (NCF-2023).

This national selection is a matter of great pride for both Ranchi University and the state of Jharkhand. The responsibility has been conferred upon Dr. Thakur in recognition of his extensive contributions as a higher education teacher, author, researcher, content developer, and academic reviewer.Congratulating Dr. Thakur on this achievement, Ranchi University Vice-Chancellor Professor Saroj Sharma expressed confidence that his deep experience and expertise will provide a new direction to the development of high-quality biology teaching materials in Indian languages.
