LATEHAR, JHARKHAND: The traditional and aromatic Jeeraphool rice from Jharkhand’s Latehar district has officially entered the premium commercial market. KISSAN SAY Agtech Pvt. Ltd.(https://kisaansay.com/) has secured its first bulk purchase order of 25 metric tonnes from the Netarhat Farmer Producer Company Limited. The major commercial deal is valued at ₹26.25 lakh (inclusive of IGST).
The landmark deal began execution when the initial shipment of 6.70 metric tonnes was dispatched from Latehar to the KISSAN SAY corporate warehouse located in Gurugram. The full purchase order, originally finalized on April 24, 2026, comprises 16,250 individual retail-ready packets weighed in 1 kg and 2 kg sizes.
Strengthening the Rural Value Chain
The operational success of this supply chain relies heavily on the local infrastructure setup. The Latehar District Administration established a specialized Rice-cum-Peanut Processing Unit in the Mahua-danr area. This processing hub is managed directly by the Netarhat Farmer Producer Company Limited, an enterprise that unites and supports approximately 1,500 local tribal farmers.
The Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS) provided structural guidance to make this possible. Specifically, the JSLPS SETU Cell worked to bridge gaps between:

* Modern industrial processing and packaging facilities
* Quality control standards and retail brand development
* High-end, premium urban consumer markets
