The profession of veterinarians is more noble than that of human doctors: Dr SC Dubey

Ranchi: Birsa Agriculture University (BAU) Vice Chancellor Dr SC Dubey said that the profession of veterinarians is more pious than that of the human doctors because they serve the silent animals and birds who can’t explain their ailment, pains, problems, agony and symptoms. As guardians of animal health on the planet, their life is very difficult devoid of comfort and health of animals is directly related to humans and the environment. All the techniques, medicines and procedures are first experimented on animals for result confirmation to be used in human healthcare and management in future.

Dr Dubey was addressing the World Veterinary Day (WVD) celebration organized at College of Veterinary Science of BAU on Saturday. Emphasizing on improving safe and quality nutritional content in animal products, he said 90 percent of Indian population is suffering from under nutrition, mal nutrition and micronutrient deficiency. Efforts for productivity enhancement should be without compromising the interest of future users of animal resources and environment, he added.
