Dr AK Srivastava appointed President of BAU Pashupatinath Temple Management Committee

Ranchi: Dr AK Srivastava, former Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry at Birsa Agricultural University (BAU), has been appointed as the President of the newly constituted seven-member BAU Pashupatinath Temple Management Committee.

Dr Srivastava served BAU for 38 years as a teacher and scientist. He was a University Professor for 20 years and headed the Department of Animal Production & Management for a long period. He also worked for two years at Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University, Jabalpur. A resident of Arsande, Kanke, Dr Srivastava is also the Working President of the Jharkhand State Committee of the Kayastha Krantikari Vichar Manch.

The management committee of the 6–7 decade old Pashupatinath Temple located on the BAU campus includes Pankaj Vatsal as Secretary. The Executive Committee members are Dr Ashish Kumar Chakraborty, Dr Arvind Kumar Singh, Dr Sushil Kumar Pandey, and Dr Shailendra Kumar Rajak. The Assistant Controller of the Faculty of Veterinary Science serves as the ex officio Treasurer of the committee.

The office order regarding the committee’s constitution was issued by Dr Alok Kumar Pandey, the current Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Science at BAU. The appointment follows the resignation of the former President of the temple committee, Dr Rabindra Bhakta.
