A Legacy of Steel, A Dawn of Gold: ITEF Ranchi Steps into its 75th Year

RANCHI: The Central Revenue Building in Ranchi transformed into a canvas of pride and unity on Wednesday (May 20) as the Income Tax Employees Federation (ITEF) Ranchi Unit launched its Platinum Jubilee celebrations, marking 74 years of relentless struggle and entering its historic 75th year.

Woven in Valor: Women Lead the Flag Hoisting

In a powerful tribute to inclusivity and modern solidarity, the celebration began with the hoisting of the organizational flag, led entirely by the women members of the Ranchi Unit. As the flag unfurled against the morning sky, it symbolized not just the history of the union, but a forward-looking vision of equality and strength. The atmosphere charged with emotion as hundreds of members renewed their vows of discipline and collective bargaining.

Echoes of the Past, Armor for the Future

Addressing a packed gathering of veteran comrades and young professionals, ITEF Ranchi Unit President, Shri Manoj Kumar Shukla, reminded the audience that the federation is far more than a bureaucratic body.

“ITEF is a living, breathing voice for employee dignity and justice,” Shukla said. “For over seven decades, we have weathered storms to shield our workforce. This Platinum Jubilee is our moment to honor the giants upon whose shoulders we stand, while forging a shield against the emerging corporate and digital challenges of today.”

A Year-Long Journey of Reflection and Action

The event signals the start of a massive, multi-city campaign. Secretary Shri Abhash Nath announced that the Platinum Jubilee will not be a single day’s event, but a grand journey spanning from 20 May 2026 to 10 February 2027. The coming months will feature nationwide seminars, social welfare activities, and organizational drives designed to pass the torch of union values to the next generation.

The launch drew prominent leaders and members from across Ranchi, Dhanbad, and Jamshedpur, including ITEF (Bihar & Jharkhand) Vice President Shri Avinash Kumar and Assistant Commissioner Shri C. K. Jha, cementing the event as a monumental milestone in the region’s labor history.
