Night Sky Observation Workshop concludes at Sarala Birla University

Ranchi: The Night Sky Observation Workshop, jointly organized by Sarala Birla University, Ranchi and Synodic Space Labs, successfully concluded today. This two-day event, held at the SBU campus, provided an enriching experience for students and teachers from various schools and colleges. The workshop offered participants valuable insights into planetary phenomena, fostering a deeper understanding of space and celestial events.

During the workshop, participants explored the latest advancements in astronomy and gained hands-on experience in night-time planetary observation. They had the opportunity to observe celestial bodies, planets, and galaxies using advanced telescopes.

The concluding session featured insightful addresses by esteemed dignitaries who graced the occasion. Prof. Gopal Pathak, Hon’ble Director General, SBU congratulated all participants and encouraged them to remain engaged in the continuous learning process. He urged the youth to persist in failure and stay resolute and consistent to achieve success. He also announced that the University is going to introduce an Aerospace Engineering course at Sarala Birla University in the near future.

Prof. C. Jeganathan, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, SBU spoke about India’s remarkable achievements in the field of space science and technology. He emphasized the objectives of the workshop and discussed the vast career opportunities in the space sector. The Hon’ble Pro- Chancellor, SBU Mr. Bijay Kumar Dalan, and Hon’ble Director Planning & Organizational Development, SBU & Hon’ble MP, Rajya Sabha, Dr. Pradip Kumar Varma, extended their best wishes for the successful organization of the workshop.

In the theory session, Mr. Prakhar Jain shared key terminologies and concepts in space science, offering participants a deeper understanding of the subject. The session witnessed the enthusiastic participation of university faculty, non-teaching staff, and students, adding to the event’s success.
