Miscreants vandalise statue of Baba Vidyapati in Ranchi, Vidyapati Smarak Samiti takes action

Ranchi: Unidentified miscreants vandalized statue of Baba Vidyapati near Big Bazar on Main Road.

The Vidyapati Smarak Samiti  knocked on the door of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rahul Kumar Sinha demanding immediate action in the matter of desecration of Baba Vidyapati.

 

“It is a humble request to say that the statue of Baba Vidyapati, the presiding deity of our Maithil community, has been installed near the main road Sujata Chowk for many years and the entire Maithil community has been worshiping it. The said statue and its platform were vandalized last night by some unknown person. This morning, among the many enlightened people of our Maithil community, Shri Navin Jha, Vinodanand Jha.. Jayant Jha. Amarnath Jha, Kishore Jha, Ratdheshyam Yadav, Munni Yadav, Sachindra Mohan Jha. Inspection was done by Pawan Soni etc. and it was unanimously decided that the information about the said incident should first be given to the senior Ranchi administration, Ranchi Municipal Corporation, local Chutia police station and media so that action can be taken against the culprits and such incidents can be avoided in future. The incident should not be repeated. Therefore, it is requested to the gentleman that he please get the repair work of the said statue and platform done by Ranchi Municipal Corporation within a week, otherwise our Maithil social organization should be given permission to do the repair work, so that the platform of the broken statue can be repaired. Repairs can be done immediately by our social organization. The entire Maithil community will be grateful to you for this work,” a letter by the Samiti chairman Jayant Jha reads.
