GANDEY: In a major push to accelerate rural growth and public welfare, Gandey MLA Smt. Kalpana Murmu Soren laid the foundation stones for a series of high-impact development projects spanning infrastructure, education, and livelihood empowerment across the constituency. Top district officials, including Deputy Commissioner Ramniwas Yadav and Superintendent of Police Dr. Bimal Kumar, attended the events.

The cornerstone of the development drive is the Badkitand–Girniya Mor road project. Executed by the Road Construction Department at an estimated cost of ₹55 crore, this vital transit corridor aims to drastically improve rural-urban connectivity, ease regional transportation, and boost trade for local residents.

Simultaneously, economic self-reliance took center stage with the foundation stone laying of the Gandey Dastkar Unit at the Zila Parishad Inspection Building campus. This Jute Handloom and Textile Product Manufacturing Unit is strategically designed to provide skill-based employment and self-employment opportunities to local artisans, youth, and women’s self-help groups (SHGs), preserving traditional handicrafts while strengthening the grassroots economy.

Education and youth empowerment also received significant attention. During an inspection of Taratand High School, MLA Soren evaluated academic infrastructure and interacted closely with students, emphasizing discipline and quality education. She also honored outstanding players from the 19th Junior State Level Girls Kho-Kho Championship.

The MLA concluded her tour by engaging with Birsa Harit Gram Yojana beneficiaries and visiting a highly successful modern agricultural farm in Bengabad block run by local farmer Khurshid Hadi. Soren praised these sustainable farming innovations and urged community members to maximize government welfare schemes to achieve lasting economic independence. Together, these targeted initiatives mark a transformative step forward for Gandey’s rural landscape.
