Sahibganj: Deputy commissioner Hemant Sati and superintendent of police Amit Kumar Singh on Wednesday flagged off a special two-wheeler bike patrolling squad from district collectorate. The purpose of the squad is to strengthen law and order of the district.
Among those present on the occasion included Deputy Development Commissioner Satish Chandra, Additional Collector Gautam Kumar Bhagat, Sub-Divisional Officer Amar John Aind, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Police Station Incharges and Mobile Tiger jawans. They participated in the march by riding on bikes.
The flag march started from the Collectorate premises and ended at the same place passing through Rasoolpur, LC Road, College Road, Eastern Gate, Subhash Chowk and other prominent locations.
During this, the message was given to the common citizens that the district administration is fully alert, vigilant and serious about public safety.
DC and SP both provided Rs 40 lakh from an untied fund for the squad.
