Tear gas smoke reaches the school during mock drill

Ranchi: Police negligence caused chaos in the Government Middle School, Police Line.

The negligence took place during a riot control mock drill organised for the Ramnavmi, Id and Sarhul festival.
During mock drill a tear shell was fired in such a way that smoke reached the school and children’s eyes started having a burning sensation. Many children started having difficulty breathing. A dozen children were rushed to Sadar Hospital.

Questions raised on police negligence
At present, two girls have to be admitted to the hospital. Ranchi BJP MLA CP Singh raised questions on the negligence of the police and said that it is not right for tear gas smoke to reach the school during the mock drill. Police should go to an area away from dense population and conduct mock drills.
