Social activist Shailesh Sinha raises demand of making ultramodern railway service affordable for poor
Ranchi: A social and political activist of Jharkhand capital Shailesh Kumar Sinha urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ensure that poor can also take benefit of railway expansion and facility.
“Railway service is not only a means of transport for us Indians, but it also strengthens social relations, but even today the poor society is deprived of this facility. Prime Minister Narendra Modi talks about working continuously for the poor in the Parliament. Therefore, welcoming the modern expansion of Indian Railways, I urge him to ensure that the poor and the greater society also get the benefit of this facility,” he said.
He said: “Despite the expansion of modern amenities, people are being deprived of the benefits of modern Vande Bharata Train and Amrit Bharat Train due to its high fare. Middle class families can just see such trains.”
Raising the demand for fair affordable for poor, Sinha said: “The way the middle class has got the benefit of income tax facility, the Railway Ministry should also think about how the people of those sections who are slightly above or below the poverty line can avail service of modern trains.”
He said: “In the case of “Rail Seva Bed” also, there is a great need to connect the capitals of states with the capitals of other states because changing trains at many stations and travelling is very difficult for the elderly. Even now, there is no direct rail service from Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand to Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, due to which the elderly face a lot of problems and due to this their social relations are also getting cut off. This problem also needs to be solved”.
