Ranchi, July 19, 2026: The 56th Installation Ceremony of the Rotary Club of Ranchi South for Rotary Year 2026–27 was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Taurian World School, Ranchi, in the presence of Rotarians, dignitaries, media representatives, and their families.

The programme was graced by Smt. Kiran Kumari Pasi, IAS, Director, Social Welfare Department, Government of Jharkhand, as the Chief Guest. Assistant Governor (Zone 2) Rtn. Dr. Vinay D. Dhandhaniya and Assistant Governor (Zone 3) Rtn. Ashok Sah attended as Guests of Honour. Presidents and Secretaries of several Rotary Clubs also participated in the ceremony.

During the installation ceremony, Rtn. Raja Bagchi assumed office as President of the Rotary Club of Ranchi South for Rotary Year 2026–27. Rtn. Shivendra Mohan took charge as Secretary, Rtn. Rathin Bhadra as Executive Secretary, and Rtn. Yogendra Sahu as Treasurer, along with the newly installed Board of Directors.

A Plantation Drive of 50 saplings was undertaken on the campus of Taurian World School, reinforcing Rotary’s commitment to environmental conservation. The Interact Club of Taurian World School was also officially launched to nurture leadership and community service among students.

Welcoming the gathering, Rtn. Rathin Bhadra, Executive Secretary, introduced the Chief Guest as a dedicated IAS officer known for her commitment to social welfare and public service. He also introduced every awardee individually, highlighting their contributions and ensuring that each guest and honouree felt warmly welcomed and appreciated he also appreciated the suport of MR. The programme highlighted the Rotary Club of Ranchi South’s major achievements during Rotary Year 2025–26, including impactful initiatives in environmental conservation, healthcare, blood donation, youth leadership, women empowerment, disability inclusion, water conservation, education, humanitarian service, sports, and drug de-addiction awareness.

A total of 21 Rotarians were honoured with the prestigious “Service Above Self Award” for their exceptional dedication to Rotary and society. The awardees were:

Rtn. Neeraj Sinha, Rtn. S. K. Giri, Rtn. Sushil Chaudhary, Rtn. Arvind Kumar, Rtn. Raja Bagchi, Rtn. Sachi Kumari, Rtn. Yogendra Sahu, Rtn. Pandey Niraj Rai, Rtn. Jai Prakash, Rtn. Santosh Jaiswal, Rtn. D. N. Lal (DIG, CRPF), Rtn. Dr. Suphal Ekka, Rtn. Priyanka Ekka, Rtn. Nirmal Tigga, Rtn. Subhash Kumar, Rtn. Shailendra Misra, Rtn. Chetan Nagesh, Rtn. Sunil Saraf, Rtn. Rathin Bhadra, Rtn. Shivendra Mohan, and Rtn. Arvind Kumar Sinha.

The Club also felicitated media professionals Sunny Sharad (Followup News), Ranjan Kataria (22 Scope), Manish Kumar (Young Bharat), Praveen Mishra (Hindustan Hindi), and Pallavi Kumari (Nai Soch Express, Patna) for their consistent support in promoting Rotary’s community service initiatives.

Anima Ba was honoured for her outstanding contribution to social service and women empowerment. Taurian World School, Orians School, and W. John Multipurpose Boarding School were recognized for their continued support to Rotary’s educational and community initiatives.

The Club further honoured Rtn. Vishal Shah for donating blood 118 times and Rtn. Atul Gera for his remarkable achievement of 120 voluntary blood donations, inspiring countless others through their selfless service.

The ceremony also witnessed the induction of Rtn. Vivek Sinha and Rtn. Gopal Prasad Choudhary, Director of Taurian World School, as new members of the Rotary Club of Ranchi South.

In her address, Chief Guest Smt. Kiran Kumari Pasi, IAS, appreciated the remarkable service initiatives undertaken by the Club and encouraged Rotary to work closely with the Government of Jharkhand and the Social Welfare Department in the fields of women and child welfare, disability inclusion, education, environmental protection, and community development. She praised Rotary’s dedication towards creating a positive and sustainable impact on society.

The programme concluded with fellowship and lunch, reaffirming Rotary’s motto “Service Above Self.” Under the leadership of President Rtn. Raja Bagchi and his newly installed team, the Rotary Club of Ranchi South pledged to further strengthen its humanitarian initiatives and continue serving society with dedication, compassion, and excellence.
