Goregaon Student Wins Accolades in City-Wide Road Safety Slogan Contest

MUMBAI, JANUARY 2026 – Shivani, a talented student from Lakshdham High School, Goregaon East, has secured the third position in the prestigious All Mumbai Inter-School Slogan Writing Competition. The contest was a highlight of the National Road Safety Month 2026 activities organised by the Mumbai Traffic Police to promote traffic discipline among the youth.

Shivani stood out among over 3,100 participants from 10 divisions across the city. Her submission featured a set of four powerful slogans, one of which caught the judges’ attention for its clever and cautionary wit: “When you are crossing the road look to your left look to your right or else you will get to see the Divine light.”

At a grand award ceremony held to mark the conclusion of the safety week, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) presented Shivani with her prize. The DCP commended her and other students from Lakshdham High School for using creativity to address the serious issue of road safety, noting that such initiatives are vital for fostering a culture of responsible citizenship.

The competition, which also included essay writing and drawing categories, remains a cornerstone of the Mumbai Traffic Police’s mission to reduce accidents by educating the city’s youngest residents.
