Hung curd sandwiches and chocolate ladoos brought smile among 50 physically challenged children and their mothers

Ranchi: City based social outfit Pankhuri organised two-hour cooking workshop for physically challenged children of Gurunank home for handicap Bariatu today. Deputy Secretary Sangeeta Chitlangia of Pankhuri provided informative tips for making fresh vegetables sandwiches using carrots, capsicum, cucumbers, lettuce, hung curd using bread slices.

She suggested to cut vegetables finely and mix curd, tomato sauce, chilli sauce.” Curd water should be drained properly and sprinkle salt and pepper later. Now take bread slices. She made ten pices of sandwiches,”
She suggested to cut slices evenly and she suggested mothers to make healthy breakfast using fresh vegetables. After making fresh vegetables sandwiches it was distributed among all who relished it and promised to make similar sandwiches as a snack.

One of the participants Punam Kumari whose five-year-old child is physically challenged said they had never seen such a workshop, ” Such type of fireless cooking with minimum ingredients is indeed useful for us,”. This was followed by making chocolate ladoos using coco powder, milk maid, desiccated coconut powder. Sangeeta Chitlangia suggested instead of milk maid they can use milk and sugar and also transform it into cakes.

All physically challenged children were given chocolate ladoos which brought smile on their faces. Present on the occasion were Chairperson of Pankhuri Arti Sahuliyar, Treasurer Hazel Davis, Deputy Secretary among other members. While this workshop was made successful by manager of Gurunank home for handicap Bariatu Pritam Singh Saluja, physiotherapists Dr Madhukar Anand, Dr Shabana Hasan, Laxmi Kumari, Sarita Toppo.
