NDRF and RPF Conduct High-Intensity Mock Drill to Master Rail Disaster Response

Ranchi: The NDRF and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) held a joint mock drill to simulate a rail accident. The exercise focused on rapid rescue operations and effective coordination during emergency train disasters.

The mock drills in Ranchi have focused on diverse disaster scenarios, ranging from industrial accidents to natural calamities.

This joint exercise simulated a collision between a passenger train and a heavy vehicle at a level crossing, resulting in multiple “casualties” and trapped passengers. NDRF personnel demonstrated “cold cutting” and “sheet cutting” techniques to enter damaged coaches through windows and roofs.

The “Golden Hour” concept was practiced, medical teams provided immediate CPR and stabilized victims before transporting them to nearby hospitals via a fleet of ambulances.
