Jharkhand NSS Contingent Honoured by Governor After Kartavya Path Success

RANCHI: The National Service Scheme (NSS) contingent representing Jharkhand at the National Republic Day Parade Camp 2026 in New Delhi paid a courtesy call on the Honorable Governor, Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar, at Lok Bhavan today.

The governor lauded the volunteers for their “excellent performance” at Kartavya Path, where they represented the state from January 1 to January 31, 2026. He highlighted that the NSS remains a powerful medium for instilling discipline and a sense of dedication to the nation among the youth.

The group included notable volunteers Ms. Agrani Srivastava, Ms. Gunjan Sharma, Mr. Sai Shweman, and Mr. Praveen Pruseth, led by Program Officer Dr. Shashikala Kumari. Jharkhand’s volunteers were among a select group of outstanding individuals from across India who participated in training sessions focused on leadership, patriotism, and cultural integration. The governor specifically noted that their presence in the January 26th parade was a matter of immense pride for Jharkhand.

Key officials present included Mr. Vinay Kumar (Regional Director, NSS Jharkhand & Bihar), Mr. Brajesh Kumar (State NSS Coordinator), and Mr. Priyavrat Mandal (Youth Officer).

Beyond the parade, these volunteers have been pivotal in regional welfare; many of the same units participated in a State Blood Donation Camp earlier in January at Raj Bhavan to mark Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary. The governor’s meeting today solidifies a month of high-profile youth engagements, including the Viksit Bharat Young Leader Dialogue, where Jharkhand’s youth shared their vision with the prime minister.
