End of an Era: Jharkhand Mourns the Loss of RSS Stalwart and Sahakar Bharati Founder Shri Mahavir Singh
Ranchi, Jharkhand | January 26, 2026
A deep shroud of silence and grief has descended over Jharkhand as the state mourns the passing of Mahavir Singh, a towering figure in social service and a pillar of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). A man of relentless dedication and selfless service, Singh breathed his last in Vellore, leaving behind a legacy that shaped the cooperative and educational landscape of the region.
Singh was not merely a leader but a mentor to thousands. As a founding member of Sahakar Bharati in Jharkhand, he was instrumental in empowering the grassroots through the cooperative movement. His vision for value-based education found a home in his role as a mentor for Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir, where he spent decades nurturing the characters of future generations.
The Final Homecoming
The mortal remains of the departed soul are being brought by road from Vellore. The final journey to his ancestral roots will culminate tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at his village, Tiril Dhurwa, Ranchi.
Friends, family, and hundreds of volunteers from the RSS and Sahakar Bharati are expected to gather to pay their tearful respects to a man who lived every breath for the service of the nation and the upliftment of the poor.
The passing of Mahavir Singh marks the end of a golden chapter in Jharkhand’s social history. His simple living and high thinking will continue to serve as a guiding light for all who seek to serve the motherland.
May his soul find eternal peace in the lap of the Almighty.
