Ranchi: In view of mutliple representations received from employers and other stakeholders citing technical and operational difficulties in filing returns for the wage month of December, 2025, provident fund office decided to extend the due date for submission of the Electronic Challan-cum-Return (ECR) for the wage month of December, 2025 by a further period of five (05) days, i.e, up to 20.01.2026.
A circular from the office of Additional Central P.F. Commissioner (Compliance), P.B. Verma, on Thursday informed this.
“In view of multiple representations received from employers and other stakeholders citing technical and operational difficulties in filing returns for the wage month of December, 2025, it has been decided by the competent authority to extend the due date for submission of ECR for the wage month of December, 2025 by a further period of five (05) days, le, up to 20.01.2026. It is reiterated that this extension is being granted as a special measure to the employers to file the returns. It is further clarified that no interest or damages shall be levied for ECRs and payments made within the extended due date,” the circular reads.
