A Grand Celebration of “Service Above Self” at the Interact Club Family Picnic

Ranchi: The Interact Club of Taurian World School, under the leadership of RTN RATHIN BHADRA, National President, Indian Startup Association, organised a vibrant and memorable Family Picnic, celebrating the spirit of “Service Above Self”, the core value of Rotary International. The event witnessed the participation of over 300 people from diverse walks of life, reflecting inclusivity, social harmony, and strong community engagement.

The programme was graced by several eminent personalities who were honoured for their outstanding contributions to society. Distinguished guests included DGN Rtn. Mukesh Taneja, Shri Shailendra Mishra (Principal, Taurian World School), DIG D. N. Lal (CRPF), DIG Sanjay Ranjan Singh (IPS), SP NCB Shri Manohar Manjul, DSP Arvind Sinha, DSP Dayanand Kumara, along with many other senior officers and social contributors.

The gathering was further enriched by the presence of senior officials including the Registrar of the Jharkhand High Court, senior police officers up to the DGP level, and other respected citizens, whose participation added immense value and dignity to the event.

In addition, innovative startups and leaders from the national startup ecosystem were specially recognised for their contributions to entrepreneurship, sustainability, and social impact. Honoured startup leaders included Shri Rajesh Ji, Shri Shubham, Shri Sandeep Sahay, Shri Debrojyoti (Kolkata), Shri Deepak Chatterjee (Kolkata), along with Shri Sandeep Kumar, Startup Incubation Head and Dean, Sarla Birla University. The event was further honoured by the presence of Shri Raja Bagchi, Vice President, Indian Startup Association, and Rtn. Rathin Bhadra, National President, along with several prominent startup mentors and ecosystem builders.

Teams from CRPF, Jharkhand Police (including CID, NCB, and DALSA), Palamu Sportsman Club, Jharkhand Sports Reporters, and Rotary International District 3250 actively participated in the programme. The Rotary teams were captained by Rtn. Nihar Das, President, Rotary Club of Ranchi North, and guided by Rtn. Dr. Arvind Kumar, President, Rotary Club of Ranchi South. A friendly yet competitive cricket match was organised, in which Jharkhand Police emerged as winners, while CRPF secured the runners-up position, adding excitement and camaraderie to the celebrations.

Notable attendees also included Shri Sunil Sahay, brother of Shri Subodh Kant Sahay, former Home Minister, Government of India, and Shri Anup Lal, Joint Secretary, Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha, whose presence further elevated the stature of the event.

The picnic was thoughtfully designed as a complete family-oriented celebration. Ladies enthusiastically participated in games such as Housie and Musical Chairs, while children and family members enjoyed horse riding, basketball, table tennis, football, and various other recreational activities. The atmosphere throughout the event remained joyful, energetic, and filled with togetherness.

All sports activities were conducted under the supervision of Shri Ajay Kukreti, BCCI Umpire, ensuring professionalism and fair play. The event also received wide media coverage, with the presence of leading press reporters from Jharkhand, highlighting the spirit of unity, service, and fellowship showcased during the programme.
Overall, the Interact Club Family Picnic, held under the dynamic leadership of RTN RATHIN BHADRA, stood as a shining example of social harmony, innovation, and community bonding, reinforcing the ideals of Rotary International and strengthening ties among educational institutions, uniformed services, startup ecosystems, sports bodies, and civil society.
