Phase I of the Veer Birsa Munda Cyclothon, themed “Shaurya Ke Kadam, Kranti Ki Ore,” was accorded a grand reception at Morabadi Ground

Ranchi, Dec. 20: The Phase I of the Veer Birsa Munda Cyclothon, themed “Shaurya Ke Kadam, Kranti Ki Ore,” was accorded a grand reception today at Morabadi Ground, Ranchi. The occasion was graced by the Honourable Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Jharkhand, Shri Sudivya Kumar, as the Chief Guest, in the esteemed presence of Brigadier R K Singh, Group Commander, NCC Group Headquarters, Ranchi, senior Army officials, state dignitaries, NCC cadets, and a large gathering of enthusiastic citizens.

The Phase I of the Cyclothon traversed three important axes across Jharkhand, covering locations of deep historical and cultural significance closely associated with the life, legacy, and contributions of Dharti Abba Veer Birsa Munda to India’s freedom struggle and the empowerment of the tribal community. As a mark of respect, the Honourable Minister offered floral tributes to the portrait of Veer Birsa Munda. The reception was enlivened by vibrant cultural performances by NCC cadets, which beautifully showcased the rich cultural heritage of Jharkhand and reflected the spirit of unity and discipline embodied by the Cyclothon.

The Honourable Minister felicitated the Cyclothon participants and addressed the Cyclothon team and NCC cadets. He lauded their dedication, discipline, and commitment, stating that the initiative reflects the enduring values of courage, resilience, and national integration championed by Veer Birsa Munda. He emphasized that such initiatives not only honour the legacy of the great tribal leader but also inspire the youth to play a constructive role in nation-building. Extending his best wishes, he expressed confidence that the Cyclothon’s final phase from Ranchi to New Delhi would successfully carry the message of unity, empowerment, and cultural pride across the nation.

The reception at Morabadi Ground highlighted the collective pride of Jharkhand in celebrating its heritage and underscored the significant role of young NCC cadets in carrying forward the ideals of unity, discipline, and patriotism. The Phase II of the Veer Birsa Munda Cyclothon will be flagged off on 28 December 2025, embarking on a challenging and inspiring journey from Ranchi to New Delhi. The Cyclothon will culminate in a grand homecoming at the Prime Minister’s Rally on 27 January 2026 in New Delhi, serving as a fitting tribute to Dharti Abba Veer Birsa Munda at the highest national platform.
