Khunti: Murhu Nari Shakti Kisan Producer Company Limited (MNSKPCL), a women-led Farmer Producer Company from Khunti district, Jharkhand, has been awarded the prestigious FPO of the Year – Large (Joint Winner) at the FPO Impact Awards 2025, organised by ACCESS Development Services during the Livelihoods India Summit 2025 in New Delhi.
The award ceremony took place on 4th December 2025, in the presence of national-level institutions, sector experts, civil society organisations, and distinguished members of the jury. The award was presented by NABARD Chairman Shaji K.V.
ACCESS Development Services commended MNSKPCL for its extraordinary performance, strong governance systems, and transformative contribution to livelihood enhancement for tribal farmers.
MNSKPCL – Empowering Tribal Women Farmers in Jharkhand
Murhu Nari Shakti Kisan Producer Company Limited (MNSKPCL), a pioneering women-led Farmer Producer Organization from Murhu Block, Khunti District, continues to strengthen its role in transforming rural tribal livelihoods in Jharkhand. Founded on 5th March 2018, the FPO was promoted by Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra (NBJK) under the CInI Lakhpati Kisan™ Smart Village initiative, with a vision to uplift tribal women through collective enterprise and sustainable farming.

Value Addition & Livelihood Diversification
1. Lac Handicrafts – Tradition Meets Innovation
Supported by ONGC Foundation through CInI and facilitated by NBJK, MNSKPCL has empowered trained women artisans to produce eco-friendly lac jewellery and decorative items. Lac harvested from Kusum, Ber, and Palash hosts is processed into Seedlac, Shellac, and handcrafted products that are gaining nationwide popularity.
2. Finger Millet (Ragi) Value Chain – Kode Madua
Supported by World Resources Institute (WRI India) and CInI under the JHARVEER programme, MNSKPCL established a solar-powered Ragi Processing Unit.

2,000+ farmers benefitting through MSP-based procurement
End-to-end advanced processing (cleaning, destoning, dehulling, pulverising, hygienic packaging)
Nutritious, gluten-free Ragi flour now reaching institutional markets
