Dark road welcomes commuters in Patratu

Ranchi: Walking during night hours on the 1000 m stretch between the Patratu railway crossing and the railway station is a big challenge for commuters.

An RTI activist cum entrepreneur, Sarvesh Singh, informed the fact, explaining the challenge.

“There is no light in the 1000-meter stretch between the Patratu railway crossing and the railway station. Only poles have been installed. The road in front of the station is broken. The lack of civil and electrification work can cause any major accident,” Singh said.

A railway official confirmed the situation. “It comes under the jurisdiction of the divisional railway manager (DRM) sitting at Dhanbad. Information has been sent to his office, but there is no one to take action.Unpleasant incidents can happen at any time with the passengers coming by bus from Ranchi at night,” he said.
