Ranchi local Girl Completes Kailash–Mansarovar Yatra, Showcases Unmatched Grit and Spiritual Devotion
Ranchi: In an inspiring feat of courage and devotion, Ms. Chitrakshi, daughter of former DGP Jharkhand Sri Rajeev Kumar, has successfully completed the arduous Kailash–Mansarovar Yatra in Tibet (China)—one of the most challenging and spiritually significant pilgrimages in the world.
Covering an extensive 52-kilometre trek across inhospitable climatic conditions, treacherous terrain, and extreme altitudes, Ms. Chitrakshi displayed remarkable endurance and determination. The highlight of the journey was the crossing of the mighty Dolma La Pass, situated at a staggering 18,640 feet above sea level, a feat that tests the physical and mental strength of even the most seasoned adventurers. After crossing Dolma La, she also had the divine darshan of the sacred Gauri Kund, a holy lake associated with Goddess Parvati, considered a site of immense spiritual significance.
After successfully completing the sacred Parikrama (circumambulation) of Mount Kailash, revered as the abode of Lord Shiva, she performed a holy bath in the icy cold, crystal-clear waters of Mansarovar Lake—a ritual believed to purify the soul and bring spiritual enlightenment.
Sharing her experience, Chitrakshi said: “It was a test of faith, endurance, and inner strength. The journey through the harsh terrain and extreme weather was tough, but every step brought me closer to a divine experience. Witnessing Gauri Kund after Dolma Pass, taking the holy dip in Mansarovar, and beholding the majestic Mount Kailash was truly life-transforming—a spiritual calling fulfilled.”
The Kailash–Mansarovar Yatra requires rigorous physical preparation, mental fortitude, and deep faith, as pilgrims face unpredictable weather, oxygen-deprived altitudes, and some of the harshest natural conditions on the planet. Despite these odds, Ms. Chitrakshi’s achievement stands as a shining example of determination and devotion.
