Hazaribagh (Barkagaon): The Adani Foundation on Thursday distributed nutrition kits to 80 tuberculosis patients at the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Barkagaon, marking the first camp of the fifth phase of its ongoing support programme. Under this initiative, the patients will continue to receive nutrition kits every month for the next five months.
Speaking on the occasion, CHC Barkagaon Medical Officer Dr. Anju Prabha encouraged patients to adopt a healthy lifestyle alongside medical treatment. She lauded the Foundation’s efforts, calling the initiative “a meaningful step towards strengthening the treatment process by providing nutritional support to TB patients.” Dr. Prabha also distributed awareness pamphlets to patients to spread knowledge about preventive care and community awareness.
Notably, of the 120 TB patients enrolled in the current financial year, 40 have already recovered completely, reflecting the positive impact of the programme. Treatment and nutritional support continue for the remaining 80 patients.
Foundation’s work extends beyond health
In Barkagaon, the Adani Foundation is also actively engaged in education, women’s empowerment, skill development, farmer support and rural development. Recent initiatives include the distribution of seeds and fertilizers to farmers, academic support programmes for students, and self-employment training for women, all of which are creating a positive impact in the region.
