Ranchi: Institute of Hotel Management,Ranchi welcomed its new batch of B. Sc. H&HA 2025-26 students with a vibrant Orientation ceremony.
The programme began with a traditional Gayatri Havan, invoking a sense of positivity across the campus, followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting by Chief Guest Jadhav Vijaya Narayan Rao, Director, Department of Tourism, Government of Jharkhand, along with special guest Sahil Kapoor, Managing Director, Lemon Tree Hotels, Ranchi, and Principal Dr. Bhupesh Kumar, President of student representative Mihir Ghosh and Aditya Kumar Singh student acting as General Manager of Hotel IHM Ranchi.
The programme featured cultural performances including Ganesh Vandana and a traditional Jhumar dance that celebrated Jharkhand’s rich cultural heritage. The institute’s half-yearly magazine “Sandesh” was also unveiled on the occasion by the dignitaries.
In her address, tourism director Rao encouraged students to embrace the hospitality industry with discipline, humility, and adaptability. She emphasized the sector’s role in economic growth and tourism development, urging students to become future brand ambassadors of Indian hospitality.She emphasized importance and highlighted the contribution of the Tourism and Hospitality sector in GDP of the nation.
Sahil Kapoor in his inspiring address said to the students to think beyond boundaries and stay ambitious. “Dream big and stay limitless,” he remarked, reflecting on his journey in the hotel industry.
Principal Dr. Bhupesh Kumar welcomed the students and highlighted the institute’s vision of producing not only skilled professionals but also responsible citizens. He shared the achievements of IHM Ranchi alumni and provided an overview of academic plans, training modules, and career pathways.
The orientation also included briefings on academic departments, internship opportunities, placement processes, and institutional rules by various committee heads.
The event concluded on an inspiring note, setting the tone for a purposeful and transformative journey ahead for the students.
