RIMS final year MBBS result gets delayed, students on the verge of wasting one year of their career

Ranchi: RIMS final year MBBS students running from pillar to post for early publication of their final examination result.

On Thursday they met health minister Dr Irfan Ansari after meeting a section of Ranchi University officials responsible for the publication of MBBS final examination results.

“Final year MBBS ended on May 14 this year. More than 50 days have passed but nobody knows when the result will get published. For appearing in NEET PG entrance examination 365 days internship is a must. It means the internship must be completed by June 30, 2026. As the result is getting delayed there is least possibility of getting internship completed on scheduled date,” a final year MBBS student said.

Another MBBS final year student echoed him saying the way publication is being delayed suggests that university authorities are least bothered about the career of medical students.

“There is a high possibility of one year career wastage of 2020 MBBS batch, as even if result gets published next week, internship will get completed by July 15,2026 and eligibility criteria will not be fulfilled because last date to finish internship is June 30,2026. It is a matter of concern as the whole country including Bihar’s 2020 batch MBBS students have started their internship in June but RIMS 2020 batch MBBS students are yet to begin the same,” he said .
Ranchi University examination controller Vikar Kumar could not be contacted for his comment.
