Ranchi: Three athletes from Ranchi, including Faiz Ali (20), Hrithik Panerya (19), and Somnath Singh (30), have been selected for Pro Primal WBC (World Boxing Council) Muay Thai. They will all have their debut in Pro at Thailand.
They have a two-month probationary period with their training and matches held in Thailand. All three have to depart for Thailand on November 3, 2025. Their training will start on November 5. They have to stay for 2 months, and they also have to participate in the championship. On the basis of their performance, their probation period will be extended to 3-9 months.
Primal WBC is one of the most prestigious platforms for the athletes who want to make their career in MMA.
This is being seen as a big achievement for all the martial arts lovers and also for Jharkhand. All three trained under coach Snigdh Gaurav and coach Mohit Kumar at the Strength MMA Gym (Jharkhand MMA Association) for the last 4-5 years. Gaurav is vice president of the All India MMA Federation, general secretary for the Pro Primal WBC Muay Thai, and general secretary of the Jharkhand MMA Association.
Ali has earlier participated in five national MMA championships, in which he won three. Hrithik has earlier participated in four national MMA events, in which he won three.
Somnath Singh has earlier participated in four national MMA events, in which he won three. On the basis of their performance and training, all are now selected for the pro Muay Thai under the primal WBC world championship.
