Barhait (Sahibganj): In celebration of the 11th International Yoga Day, the Shreesundram Foundation (NGO) organized a yoga event on Saturday aimed at promoting health, inner peace, and community wellness.
The event, held at Barhait, drew participation from over 70 + people, including students, and volunteers from across the city.
This year’s theme, “Yoga for Self and Society,” was embraced through a series of guided yoga sessions, breathing exercises (pranayama), and talks by certified yoga instructors. Participants were encouraged to incorporate yoga into their daily routines as a means to improve physical fitness and mental well-being.
“Our goal is to make yoga accessible to all, especially in underprivileged communities,” said Shreesundram Foundation Secretary Raju Kr Sah, the Secretary of Shreesundram Foundation. “Yoga is not just an exercise; it’s a holistic practice that can uplift lives and bring harmony to society.”
The event also featured wellness workshops, and distribution of healthy snacks. The NGO partnered with local schools, health professionals, and volunteers to ensure wide community outreach.
“It is inspiring to see all the people coming together for a common cause like peace and unity,” said Pankaj Kumar, representative of the Srisundaraam Foundation.
