Ranchi: The Azim Premji Foundation has announced the Azim Premji Scholarship for the year 2025–26, under which approximately 250,000 girl students from 18 states will receive financial assistance of ₹30,000 per year for higher education. Only those girls who have completed their 10th and 12th education from government or municipal schools and are regularly enrolled in the first year of a recognized undergraduate or diploma programme will be eligible for this scholarship.
In 2024–25, this scheme was launched in select regions of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand, where the first installment has already been disbursed to 25,000 students. Anurag Behar, CEO of the Foundation, said that this initiative will help girls overcome socio-economic barriers and become self-reliant. Applications for the new academic session will be accepted from July 2025.
