Ranchi: An internal training workshop was organized on Thursday under the Laparoscopic Surgery Department of Sadar Hospital following direction from the district civil surgeon to provide information and training to government doctors about female sterilization through the laparoscopy method.
Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeon Dr. Ajit Kumar first explained the details to the two participating doctors, Dr. Bandita Singh and Dr. Indu of the Gynecology and Obstetrics Department, and paramedical staff and gave hands-on training to the doctors.
As many as ten beneficiaries had come to participate in this programme. Out of which five, who were fit for surgery, were operated on through the telescope method. The patient was discharged after being kept under observation after the operation.
Explaining the advantage of laparoscopic sterilization , Dr. Ajit said it used to be safe as sterilization done through a small incision, and beneficiaries are able to do all normal work from the next day.

Such programmes will now be organized every week in which training will be provided to government doctors, especially female doctors. Anesthesiologist Dr. Chandan Kumar Jha, Sister Sneh Lata, Sarita, Nandini, Srishti, Brother Neeraj, Madhav, PSI Santosh, and all the OT staff cooperated in making this programme successful.
