Toronto: Two weeks after an Indian student was shot dead in Canada, a girl student from India was shot dead in Toronto.
The message from the Indian Embassy in Toronto informed us, saying that the incident took place in Hamilton, a city in Canada. The deceased was identified as Harsimarat Randhawa.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic death of Indian student Harsimrat Randhawa in Hamilton, Ontario. As per local police, she was an innocent victim, fatally struck by a stray bullet during a shooting incident involving two vehicles. A homicide investigation is currently underway. We are in close contact with her family and are extending all necessary assistance. Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family during this difficult time,” the message reads.
According to the local police, Harsimrat was studying at Mohawk College and was waiting for the bus at the stoppage like every day. At the same time, the attackers came in a car and started firing bullets at the other car. One of the bullets hit Harsimrat in the chest, due to which she died on the spot.
At present, the police are reinvestigating the case. It is being ascertained how this incident happened and who fired the shot. The police are searching for the accused with the help of CCTV footage. Let us tell you that this is the second time in the month of April that an Indian has been murdered in Canada. Earlier on April 5, an Indian youth was also shot dead.
