FANS and Rotary Club organises seminar on ‘One Nation, One Election’

Ranchi: A seminar on the visionary concept of “One Nation, One Election” was hosted by the Rotary Club of Ranchi & FANS (Rashtriya Suraksha Jagran Manch), a national platform actively working towards awareness and unity for national security and policy reforms. The event brought together esteemed leaders from the fields of politics, defence, journalism, civil society, and social service, showcasing a unified voice for democratic transformation.

Distinguished Guests and Speakers:

1. Sri Sanjay Seth, Hon’ble Minister of State for Defence, graced the event as the chief guest.

He emphasized the strategic importance of synchronized elections in maintaining stability and reducing administrative burdens, especially from a defence perspective.

He also presented an analytical view of how One Nation, One Election can:

Reduce cost and logistical strain on the Election Commission.

Prevent frequent imposition of the Model Code of Conduct, which affects policy execution.

Promote political stability, consistent governance, and long-term policy planning.

Increase voter engagement and clarity among the electorate.

2. Sri Ajay Maroo, former Rajya Sabha MP, added valuable insight from a legislative and policy-making perspective.

He reflected on the historical evolution of the electoral process in India and how simultaneous elections could ensure better parliamentary efficiency and fewer disruptions.

3. Sri Rathin Bhadra, General Secretary of FANS and Founder of Aqualine Bhungru (Pani ki Kheti),

Delivered an extensive address on the function and vision of Rashtriya Suraksha Jagran Manch.

He outlined how FANS works to awaken national consciousness on issues of security, governance, and citizen awareness.
