Chhath celebration at Narendra Singh’s residence in Ashok Nagar

Ranchi: First Arghya of Chhath was organised at the residence of Narendra Singh in Ashok Nagar.

Those present on the occasion included Rubi Singh, Seema Singh, Dharmendra Singh, Shashi Singh, Sarwesh Singh and Renu Singh.

Chaiti Chhath, a four-day festival dedicated to the Sun God and Chhathi Maiya, begins on April 1 with “Naha Khay” (bathing and eating) and culminates on April 4 with the “Usha Arghya” (morning offering).

Significance:
Chaiti Chhath is a major festival in Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh, and is celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm.

Rituals:
The rituals involve fasting, prayer, and offering arghya to the sun, symbolizing gratitude for the blessings of life and seeking the fulfillment of wishes.

Chhathi Maiya:
Chhathi Maiya, the sixth form of Prakriti and Surya’s sister, is also worshipped during the festival.
