Ranchi: Aadhar card generated by Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to Indian citizen faces biometric issues and people about the same when they go for updation.
This came to fore after an NGO worker applied for updation of his son’s Aadhar card and realised that updation is not possible due to some biometric issue after he received a rejection message four days after applying for updation.
The NGO worker informed this to news7air.com sharing his first hand experience of the problem he faced in Aadhar updation (still pending) after his request was rejected due to biometric issues twice and he did not find any proper system informing him only regarding the ways to resolve the issue or suggesting him right person to talk regarding this to resolve the issue without delay.
“I received a call from my son’s school requesting an update of his Aadhaar card due to name mismatch. My son is 15 years old. To comply, I visited the Aadhaar center at Ranchi Railway Station and completed the updation process. However, four days later, I received a message stating that my request was rejected due to biometric issues. I then visited another Aadhaar center in Harmu and updated the details again. Unfortunately, after 4–5 days, I received the same rejection message citing biometric issues and advising me to contact 1947 or the Regional Office (RO),” he said.
The NGO worker said he is running from from pillar to post for Aadhar updation but it could be be possible for him so far.
“After getting advice to contact 1947 or the Regional Office, I called 1947 and registered a complaint. A few days later, I received a message stating that my issue had been resolved. I was happy but realised that it has not been resolved. I visited the Regional Office, submitted an application, and was told to return after one month for further instructions. In an attempt to resolve the issue soon, I visited the Aadhaar center at Galaxia Mall in Ranchi. The city manager informed me that biometric updates could only be done after receiving a letter from the Regional Office and that I would have to wait until then,” he said.
Sharing his frustrating experience, the NGO worker said: “The entire process has been extremely frustrating. There is no proper system in place to provide clear and accurate information. For the past 20 days, I have been dealing with this issue, even taking three days off from work solely for the Aadhaar update. Despite my efforts, the problem remains unresolved, and no one has given me a clear direction on what to do next. This system is highly stressful and inefficient.”
