Volunteers Celebrate a Safe and Heartwarming Holi with Elderly Residents

Ranchi, March 13 – In a moving Holi celebration, the Daksha pillar of Dristi NGO gave colors of joy to the inhabitants of Senior Citizen Home, D.A.V. Nandraj, Bariatu. The effort “Umang Holi – A Celebration of Joy & Togetherness,” led by Chapter Lead Nihal Verma, sought to make the festival unique for the elderly, many of whom yearn for company during the festive season.

The event was filled with heartfelt interactions, an engaging round of Antakshari, and the warmth of human connection. Volunteers, including Tejal, Krishna, Vaani, Satyam, Ishika, Tanu, Kali, and others ensured that every resident felt valued and included.

To prioritize the health and safety of the seniors, the team celebrated with herbal colors and flower petals, embracing an eco-friendly way to enjoy the festival. The joyous atmosphere was further enriched with a special meal distribution featuring malpua, dahi vada, and nimki, offering a taste of traditional festive delights.

With initiatives like these, Daksha continues to uphold the spirit of compassion, ensuring that festivals bring joy to all, regardless of age or circumstances.
