Ranchi: Security personnel engaged in anti-naxal operation of Jharkand on Friday recovered a 5kg-IED from Babudera under Jaraikela police station of East Singhbhum district. The IED as diffused on the same place with the help of bomb disposal squad.
A press statement issued by polie informed this saying the recovery took place when special operation was started on getting information of movement of top Maoist leaders in the Saranda forest area.
“Top leaders of the banned CPI (Maoist) Naxalite organization Misir Besra, Anmol, Mochu, Anal, Asim Mandal, Ajay Mahato, Sagen Angaria, Ashwin, Pintu Lohara, Chandan Lohara, Amit Hansda alias Uptan, Jaikant, Rapa Munda along with their squad members are roaming in Saranda / Kolhan area for subversive activity, in view of which a joint operation team of Chaibasa Police, Cobra 203 BN. 209 BN. Jharkhand Jaguar and CRPF 26 BN, 60 BN, 134 BN, 174 BN, 193 BN, 197 BN, has been formed and continuous operations are being conducted. In the light of reliable information received in this regard, a special joint operation has been started from 04.03.2025 in the forest / hilly area bordering Chotanagra and Jaraikela police station. During the operation today on 14.03.2025 at about 08.10 am, 01 (one) I.E.D planted earlier by Naxalites with the aim of targeting security forces in the forest / hilly area around Babudera under Jaraikela police station was recovered and destroyed at the same place with the help of bomb disposal squad from security point of view. The ongoing anti-Naxal operation is continuing,” the press statement reads.
