No reservation for SC in Chowkidar job irks SC community candidate

Ranchi: No reservation for scheduler caste (SC) in Chowkidars’ appointment across the state has become a matter of concern for the member of SC community as the community has population share of 12 to 15 percent in the state.

A SC community member said that the lack of representation is worrisome as unemployment rates among SC youth is high.

“A chowkidar job could have been a vital opportunity for SC. By benying the opportunity the government is depriving the SC community of its legitimate. Apart from this, it also against the reservation policy,” he said.

Another SC community member echoed the same and talked bout restarting the recruitment process giving proper share in reservation to SC community.

“It’s essential that the government and related departments take immediate action to address this issue of SC reservation by restarting the recruitment process with special seats allocation for the SC community. It is crucial for upholding social justice and promoting economic equality,” he said.

He shared the advertisement published for recruitment of Chowkidar in Ranchi and Bokaro district. The advertisement suggested there is no reservation for SC and they are being treated as general.
