RU PG Zoology Department organizes Alumni Meet 2024

Ranchi: Ranchi University Postgraduate Zoology department organized “Alumni Meet 2024”.

The program was presided over by the Vice Chancellor of Ranchi University, Dr. Ajit Kumar Sinha, who himself is an alumnus of this department.

In his address, he said that the students and teachers of the Department of Zoology have raised the name of Ranchi University over the years. Recalling his student life, he told how earlier there was a deep relationship between the teacher and the student and the teacher’s scolding played a big role in changing life.

The Vice Chancellor touched the feet of his teachers including Dr. GS Jha, Dr. GP Tulsiyan and sought blessings. Vice Chancellor Dr. Ajit Kumar Sinha and Head of Department Dr. Vandana Kumari showed all the alumni the advanced laboratories, instrumentation room and changes of the department.

Seeing the laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art machines and facilities, everyone praised it and said that the Department of Zoology is progressing a lot. All the guests were welcomed by Dr. Vandana Kumari, Head of the Department of Postgraduate Zoology and she expressed her gratitude to all.

Dr. GS Jha, Dr. Firoz Ahmed, Dr. GP Tulsiyan, Dr. Manoranjan Prasad Sinha, Dr. BK Sinha, Dr. Snehlata Singh, Dr. KP Mishra, Dr. Ajit Kumar, Dr. Shailesh Sinha, Dr. Baleshwar Yadav, Dr. Subodh Chaudhary, Dr. GS Sharma, Dr. Smriti Singh, Dr. Shailesh Singh, Dr. Venkat Appa Rao, Dr. Ritesh Shukla, Dr. Mithilesh Kumar, Dr. Mati ur Rahman, Dr. Abha Prasad and more than three dozen alumni were present in the program.

Along with the teachers and students of the Music and Performing Arts Department, the students of the Zoology Department presented the ‘Kulgeet’ and the welcome song. On behalf of the department, Dr. Vandana Kumari presented the song: Abhi Na Jao Chhod Kar Ki Dil Abhi Bhara Nahi and Madhuri Kumari also presented a song.

Dr. VS Jha refreshed his memories and told the journey of how the Zoology Department developed from the time of its inception. Dr GP Tulsiyan said that the Department of Zoology has always been one of the top departments. Dr Manoranjan Prasad Sinha said that the Zoology Alumni Group will develop further and Dr Firoz Ahmed blessed all the teachers and research scholars.

The stage was conducted by Dr Soni Tiwari and Dr Anand Kumar Thakur while Dr Seema Kesari, Dr Neeta Lal and Dr Nivedita Moon Moon were responsible for the arrangements. The role of the PhD scholars of the department was commendable in making the program successful. The vote of thanks was given by Dr Naini Saxena, Associate Professor, Department of Zoology.
