DLSA shifts poor sleeping under open sky to shelter homes, gives blankets 

 

Ranchi: District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) started its campaign to give warmth to the poor in the chilling cold.

The campaign, which was started on the direction of Jharkhand High Court judge and executive chairman of Jharkhand Legal Service Authority (JHALSA) Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad on Thursday afternoon, continued till late night (10.30pm to 12.30pm) on Main Road and Khadgarha Bus Stand on the same day.
Under the campaign blankets were distributed and people sleeping under open sky were shifted at Ranchi Municipal Corporation run shelter homes across the city. As many as 5 poor people sleeping under the open sky on the main road were rescued and admitted to the shelter home located in Bakri Bazar and 15 helpless people sleeping under the open sky around Khadgarha bus stand were admitted to the men and women shelter home located at Khadgarha bus stand. They were provided blankets.

Those who participated in the campaign included deputy LADC, Rajesh Kumar Sinha, PLV Vicky Chaudhary and municipal corporation assistant Manikant Sinha  besides DLSA secretary Kamlesh Behra.
During the inspection, the cleanliness of the washroom of the shelter home located at Khadgarha Bus Stand was not found proper. Observing this, DLSA secretary Behra instructed the in-charge to get the bathrooms cleaned immediately and warned them against any negligence in the matter further saying that the campaign was being run on the direction of JHALSA and will continue in the future also.

DLSA secretary also asked him to put up posters with contact numbers at various places to ensure that the needy do not face any problem reaching the shelter home.

DLSA secretary also requested RMC employees to make proper arrangements to accommodate passersby by putting up tents where there are no shelter homes.
