Dr Ajit delivers a lecture on Piles disease in Mumbai

Ranchi: Laser and laparoscopic surgeon of Sadar Hospital Dr Ajit Kumar delivered a lecture on various aspects of piles disease in the two-day national summit “Ansh-2024” held in “Mumbai”.

In this summit, more than 900 doctors participated (Offline + Online) along with former directors, department heads and senior surgeons of AIIMS, BHU and other institutions.

In the two-day summit organized in Mumbai on piles and varicose vein disease, Dr Ajit explained the symptoms, grading, prevention and various modern techniques of treatment of piles disease.

Dr Ajit said that it is a lifestyle related disease. Due to the changing lifestyle and eating habits of today, it is taking the form of an epidemic, about half the population is suffering from this disease.

He said that the main symptoms of this disease are bleeding from the anus, itching and flesh.

Suggesting preventive measures, he said one should not take the phone to the toilet and should not strain too much while defecating. He suggested eating fiber-rich food (greens, vegetables, fruits, flower salad) and using more water (at least 2-3 liters).

Talking about curative measures, Dr Aji said: “Sclerotherapy, RBL, modern laser technology and surgery play an important role in the treatment of this disease. If patients above 40 years of age complain of bleeding, then a complete investigation should be done to know the risk of cancer.”
