Ranchi: The matter of cancellation of nomination papers of BJP candidate Satyendranath Tiwari from Garhwa assembly has reached the Jharkhand High Court. Independent candidate Dilip Kumar Tiwari has filed a petition in the High Court on Tuesday regarding cancellation of nomination. The first phase of election is on 13 November in Garhwa.
On Monday, the scrutiny of nomination papers was done by SDO cum Returning Officer Garhwa. In which the independent candidate had appealed to the Returning Officer to cancel the nomination of BJP candidate Satyendranath Tiwari. Which was rejected. The independent candidate gave a written application to the Returning Officer Garhwa and told that BJP candidate Satyendranath Tiwari had not attached the no dues certificate in his nomination paper.
According to the rules of the Election Commission, the present and former MLA has to attach the no dues certificate of the last ten years from the current date in their nomination papers and mention it in the nomination paper. In the 2019 assembly elections, BJP candidate Satyendranath Tiwari had attached a no dues certificate in his nomination form, whereas in this election he has not mentioned the no dues certificate.
Regarding this, Dilip Kumar Tiwari has complained to the Chief Election Officer of the state and the Chief Election Commissioner of India. Along with this, he has filed a petition in the High Court and sought justice by cancelling the nomination of BJP candidate Satyendranath Tiwari from Garhwa.
