Ranchi: Newly selected 164 paralegal volunteers (PLV) on Friday visted Birsa Munda Central Jail on the third day of their five-day orientation and induction training. Advocate Saurabh Pandey and Virendra Pratap made them aware of legal aid clinic located in the jail. District Legal Service Authority (DLSA), Ranchi, had organised the programme following instruction of Jharkhand Legal Services Authority (JHALSA).
Earlier during a training session before jail visit mediator L.K. Giri explained them on property law (inheritance, transfer of immovable property, registration, revenue law). JHALSA deputy secretary Manish Mishra imparted them training on criminal law BNS and BNSS and explained essential knowledge regarding bail, arrest and victim compensation. Advocate Nityanand Singh informed them about the prisoner’s rights under section 396 B.N.S.S. and Jail Manual and Prisoners Act besides others.
In the second, Advocate Vijaylakshmi Shrivastava informed them about labour laws (Minimum Wages Act, 1923, Unorganized Workers Welfare) and Social Security Act 2008, Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1979, Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (in brief), Legal Aid under NALSA Scheme (Legal Services to Workers in Unorganized Sector) Scheme, 2015.
After the training, DALSA Secretary Kamlesh Behera addressed them drew their attention towards the training imparted to them.
