Birth anniversary of Pt Ayachi Mishra celebrated at Sarisab Pahi

Madhubani: Birth anniversary of noted scholar of Nyaya School of the Indian Philosophy, Pt Bhavanath Mishra popular as Ayachi Mishra, was celebrated on Tuesday at Ayachi Deeh in Sarisab Pahi under Pandol block of Madhubani district in Bihar.

 

Sanskrit University Vice Chancellor Dr. Brijesh Tripathi inaugurated the programme amid presence of another scholar Dr. Udaynath Jha ‘Ashok’ besides MLC Ghanshyam Thakur, Jhanjharpur MP Rampreet Mandal, Madhubani Mayor Arun Rai, JDU Women’s Cell State President Dr. Bharti Mehta, JDU District President Phule Bhandari, District Council Member Pintu Mishra and former Mukhiya Ram Bahadur Chaudhary by lighting the lamp.

 

The organizing committee honoured all the guests present in the program by presenting them with a turban, sheet, flower bouquet and memento.
Presiding over the program, Dr. Udaynath Jha ‘Ashok’ said: “This is the holy land of Mithila, where life becomes blessed with just a touch of this soil. This land is the laboratory for the creation of scholars, which will shine for ages.”
Jhanjharpur MP Rampreet Mandal said: “Pt. Bhavanath alias Ayachi Mishra and Shankar Mishra are a source of inspiration not only for the people of Mithila but for the entire Indian people. We have to take a pledge to keep their tradition of knowledge moving forward continuously.”

 

MLC Thakur expressed his gratitude to the members of the organizing committee and said that they deserve thanks.
“Ayachi Deeh Vikas Samiti has given us the opportunity to pay tribute to Pt. Ayachi and Shankar even on the pretext of this programme. For years, this holy Deeh remained neglected and remained only in the books of scholars. Now with the support of Ayachi Deeh Vikas Samiti convener Mukhiya Ram Bahadur Chaudhary and other members, it is on the way to regain its glory,” he said.

 

District Council member Pintu Mishra said that on this day, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar unveiled the statue of Pt. Ayachi Mishra and Delivery Sevika, which was a proud and historic day for all of us. The decision taken by Ayachi Deeh Vikas Samiti to celebrate this date as an annual festival every year is commendable.
State President of JDU Women’s Cell Dr. Bharti Mehta said that all of us Mithila residents should definitely celebrate the Mahamahopadhyaya Pt. Ayachi Shankar Mahotsav once a year in every corner of the country.

 

Vice Chancellor Dr. Brijesh Tripathi said that Sarisab Pahi is a mine of scholars. Where there have been many scholars, who have done the welfare of human society with their deeds and knowledge.

 

Amal Kumar Jha said that chief minister Nitish Kumar’s visit to Ayachi Deeh has been important for all of us.

 

“Ayachi Deeh Vikas Samiti is continuously working for the development of the campus. Ayachi Deeh Vikas Samiti is trying to develop this holy Deeh as a religious tourist place,” he said.

 

The committee’s president Prof. Asharfi Kamat gave detailed information about important things related to the life of Pt. Ayachi Mishra. Ayachi Deeh Vikas Samiti’s coordinator and former chief Ram Bahadur Chaudhary gave the welcome address.

On this occasion, Dr. Sanjeev Jha, youth leader Abhay Aman Singh, Amarnath Prasad, Mahadev Prasad, Ratinath Jha, Krishnakant Mandal, Laddu Chaudhary, Sushil Rai, Shashi Jha, Pt. Ghuran Jha and hundreds of local people were present.
Who was Pt Ayachi Mishra

Ayachi Mishra was the scholar of Nyaya school of the Indian Philosoph. Ayachi Mishra Dih was part of the Ancient Mithila University. The historical site is presently maintained by a cultural and religious organisation known as Ayachi Dih Vikas Samiti.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of Bihar unveiled the statue of the famous scholar Ayachi Mishra at Ayachi Mishra Dih in 2017. Ayachi Mishra was a 14th century AD scholar, teacher and philosopher in Mithila region. His original name was Mahamahopadhyay Pt. Bhavanath Mishra. His model of teaching is known as the Ayachi Study Model.

 

Mishra taught his disciples free of cost. On the behalf of Guru dakshina, he asked his disciples to teach 10 people.

Famous facts related to Pt Ayachi Mishra 

 

Ayachi Mishra and his wife had no children and they prayed to Mahadev for a son. His wife and his prayers were answered when Mahadev Himself was born to him. The couple named him as Shankar.
Those days, the cobbler’s wife would be the midwife during delivery. As Ayachi had nothing to pay her he promised to pay the first earnings of his son. Cobbler’s wife agreed. Later, when Shankar approached 5 year, he got gold coins in huge quantities from the king for his Shloka and Ayachi fulfilled his promise by paying all those to the cobbler’s wife.
Cobbler’s wife got a pond dug using that gold coin for public welfare and that pond still exists in the locality and all cutting across caste and creed use the pond, This is an example of social harmony of the locality.
