Ranchi: Central probe agency, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), probing eight year old murder case in which a 12-yr-old student Vinay Kumar Mahto was brutally murdered in the interveing night of February 4 and 5 in Sapphire International School (now ODM Sapphire) in Tupudana, announced Rs 5 lakh award to give clue of the murderer.
A notification was published in a newspaper. The name of the informer will be kept confidential. CBI has asked to give information on 9958756905.
Jharkhand High Court ordered CBI probe in the matter on July 7, 2022. CBI’s Ranchi-based Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) registered an FIR in this case on July 20, 2022.
Vinay Mahato was a class 7 student of Sapphire International School. He was murdered on February 5, 2016 in the school premises itself. The police had made Nazia Hussain, her husband Arif Ansari, son and daughter, among others, accused in this case. Jharkhand Police in its investigation concluded that Vinay Mahato was in a relationship with Nazia’s daughter and said that it was reason behind his murder.
