CUJ organizes lecture on ‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Poland and Ukraine: implications for India’

Ranchi: Department of International Relations of the Central University of Jharkhand organized an invited lecture on the topic Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Poland and Ukraine: implications for India’.

On this subject, Professor Swarn Singh of Jawaharlal Nehru University (Center for International Politics, Organization, Disarmament) shared his views in detail with the teachers and students of the department.
In his address, Professor Singh described ‘strategic autonomy’ as the main basis of the current Indian foreign policy and discussed Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Poland and Ukraine, giving a detailed description of India’s global aspirations. In his address, he presented India’s bilateral relations with these two countries in a historical perspective.

According to Swarn Singh, the Indian Prime Minister’s visit to Poland and Ukraine was not related to the Russia visit in July and it was a part of India’s foreign policy. This visit was a reflection of India’s foreign policy in which India is trying to give wings to its global aspirations like Vishwaguru and Vishwabharatva.

Professor Singh cited India’s stand that India has always been in favour of peace without keeping itself neutral towards global events and our Prime Minister has strongly advocated it in all multilateral forums that India has been the land of Buddha and has always worked for peace. Hence India does not take any diplomatic step under the pressure of Western countries and always implements its foreign policy according to its sovereignty.

Professor Singh, while referring to the analysis of Ashok Nimesh, professor of the university, underlined the ‘changing dimensions and nature of war’ in the current world. He discussed that nations like Ukraine and Russia appealed to the global community that anyone can join their side and contribute to the war by taking money. This is indicative of the changing nature of war. He compared it to the process of recruitment of terrorists by terrorist organizations and said that then there will be no difference between the state and other organizations beyond the state.

The discussion was chaired by Assistant Professor of the Department, Mr. Bibhuti Bhushan Vishwas. The Dean of the department, students, girls and other teachers were present on this occasion.
