Ranchi: National Space Day was celebrated with enthusiasm on Friday in the office of Survey of India, Jharkhand and Bihar Geospatial Directorate, Ranchi.
The programme was inaugurated by Superintending Surveyor Alok Kumar by lighting the lamp and expressed his views on this year’s theme “Touching Lives while Touching the Moon: India’s Space Saga”.

On the occasion of National Space Day, Kendriya Vidyalaya teacher Sunil Kumar also explained in detail about space. On this occasion, children of Kendriya Vidyalaya were invited in the office premises and a quiz competition was organized among them.
Superintending Surveyor Alok Kumar distributed prizes to the winners. Children of Kendriya Vidyalaya also presented a patriotic song. On the occasion of National Space Day, an exhibition was also organized in the office premises, in which the equipment used in survey work was displayed.
All the technical and administrative personnel of the Directorate including teachers of Kendriya Vidyalaya were present in the programme.
