Sanskrit Week starts at DSPMU

Students organise procession

Ranchi: On the first day of Sanskrit Week, a grand procession was organized by the Sanskrit Department of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University, Ranchi, in collaboration with Sanskrit Bharati, Ranchi. The primary aim of this procession was to spread awareness about the Sanskrit language and Indian culture, and to enlighten the youth about the significance of this ancient language. Students, teachers, and Sanskrit enthusiasts from various universities and colleges participated enthusiastically in the event.

During the procession, Vedic mantras were chanted, shlokas were recited, and various Sanskrit stotras were sung. The students also highlighted the importance of the Sanskrit language through various programs. In order to raise awareness about Sanskrit among different sections of society, several street corner gatherings were organized at various locations during the procession. People of all ages, from children to the elderly, actively participated, demonstrating their deep reverence for the language.

The procession featured numerous banners and posters that emphasized the importance of the Sanskrit language. The slogans written on them captivated the audience. The entire atmosphere was resonant with slogans such as “Our language is Sanskrit,” “The language of India is Sanskrit,” “Sanskrit is the scientific language,” “Protecting Sanskrit is protecting the nation,” “I study Sanskrit daily, I speak Sanskrit always,” and “Let the voice of Sanskrit flourish in every village and city.”

On this occasion, Dr. Deepchand Kashyap, the Provincial Minister of Sanskrit Bharati, stated that the knowledge and science embedded in the Sanskrit language form the foundation of our society. He emphasized that the significance of Sanskrit is not confined to religious or philosophical perspectives alone, but it is also highly important in fields such as science, mathematics, medicine, and sociology. He remarked that Sanskrit Week is a reminder of our responsibility towards this language, and that we must make continuous efforts to promote its spread and study.

Dr. Shailesh Kumar Mishra, President of the Jharkhand Sanskrit Academy, noted that Sanskrit is the primary source of our culture, tradition, and knowledge. The unique knowledge and science contained within it have enriched Indian civilization for thousands of years. He stated that Sanskrit is not merely a language but a symbol of our cultural and spiritual identity.

Dr. Dhananjay Vasudeo Dwivedi, Head of the Sanskrit Department at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University, Ranchi, conveyed in his message that the Sanskrit language paves the way for self-realization. Indian culture cannot be imagined without Sanskrit, as the language connects us to the Indian knowledge tradition.

The success of the event was greatly supported by Dr. Rahul Kumar, Dr. Shrimitra, Dr. Jagdamba Prasad, Ashish Kumar Mahato, Ritesh Kumar, Amit Mohan, Shivam Narayan, Ayush, Shubham, Surendra, Tanu Singh, Khushi, Madhuri Singh, Pratima Chauhan, and Pooja Pandey.
