GSI to organise national workshop on geological advancement in Jharkhand on July 29
Ranchi: The premier geoscientific organisation, the Geological Survey of India (GSI), State Unit- Jharkhand, as an attached office to Ministry of Mines, Govt. of India is organising a National Workshop on “Mission Based Geological Advancements in Jharkhand with Emphasis on Mineral Investigation Programmes and NGDR Stakeholder Utility Interface” on 29th of July 2024 at MAYURI auditorium, CMPDI, Kanke Ranchi to showcase their valued work and findings in the field of geology in the state of Jharkhand.
The logistic and technical support is also received from CMPDI, Ranchi and the technical workshop will showcase all recent advancements in the field of geological investigations across Missions only in the state of Jharkhand.
State centric approach will thus highlight the major geological works, mineral investigation, public good geoscience aspects, auction of mineral blocks and much more from officers of Geological Survey of India primarily and from organisations like DGM, CMPDI, Survey of India, Indian School of Mines, Ranchi University, Cotton College Guwahati, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, MECL, Central Groundwater Board etc.

The National Workshop also commemorates the 175th year of the Geological Survey of India and the 25th year of the formation of the state of Jharkhand. The event will witness the presence of Director General, GSI, Additional Director General, Eastern Region, Chairman and Managing Director, CMPDI, Commissioner, Mines, DGM, Jharkhand and several technical experts from different parts of the country. Around 200 delegates from across the country would participate in the programme.
It is the first major technical workshop being organised by State Unit Jharkhand since carving out of the state from erstwhile Bihar and will be a momentous occasion for the science of geology in Jharkhand. The Co- Convenor of the programme is Shri Akhouri Bishwapriya, DDG, GSI, Ranchi, Dr. Debashree Pratap Singh, Organising Secretary, Shri Sachin Pachpor and Shri Gladson Bage, Joint Organising Secretaries.
