Ranchi: Ranchi University vice chancellor Ajit Kumar Sinha will talk to a delegation of retired university teachers organised under the aegis of Federation of Retired University Teachers Association of Jharkhand (FRTAJ) at university campus at 12.30pm.
A letter to FRUTAJ general secretary Hariom Pandey by university registrar on July 19 informed this.
“This is to inform you that the Vice Chancellor has invited you for talks with the officials of your Mahasangh on 23.07.2024 at 12.30 pm to solve the problems of retired teachers. The venue of the talks is the Vice Chancellor’s Auditorium. Your presence is requested,” the letter in Hindi reads.
A retired teacher said the invitation is a result of teachers’ decision to knock on the door of Raj Bhawan for replacement of the existing ‘incompetent’ vice chancellor by an efficient one.
“The retired teachers organizing a meeting in the university campus expressed their concern over delay in implementation of the court order given to clear due payment of retired teachers of their service period from January 2006 to March 2010 with 6 percent interest per annum, 39 percent due payment under the recommendation of 5th payment commission from April 2021 to April 2022, payment of full gratuity and pension to retired minority college teachers, revision of pension of the retired teachers who attained age of 80 and proper respect to the widow of retired teachers running from pillar to post to get due payment of her husband,” the retired teacher said.
